Powerful fall storm to bring drastic weather change, first freeze of season to northern Utah A powerful fall storm will move through the region over the next 36 hours, and it will drastically change our weather.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for the mountains of northern Utah starting at midnight and going through 4 p.m. Thursday. A few showers will start this afternoon in northeastern Nevada and far northern Utah near the Idaho border. Temperatures will remain 10+ degrees above normal for late October.A few isolated showers could move through the Wasatch Front late this evening, but most of the precipitation will hold off until after midnight.
Most roads will just be wet for the commute, but if you drive over high mountain passes, such as the Monte Cristo or Mirror Lake Highways, you could run into some road slush tomorrow morning. By late morning, most of the valley rain and mountain snow moves into eastern and central Utah and southwestern Wyoming.
