Pope Francis spoke Sunday of 'the many children and fragile people [who] remain to die under the bombs.'ROME—Pope Francis on Sunday decried the “violent aggression against Ukraine…a senseless massacre where havoc and atrocities are repeated every day,” and he called on the international community to put an end to “this repugnant war.”
The pope, speaking from a window overlooking St. Peter’s Square after reciting the customary noon prayer, continuedin the war, but stressed the horrors that the invasion has visited upon the Ukrainian population.
