A Tory frontbencher has said she is 'shocked' by Laurence Fox's comments about a journalist on GB News - but she won't boycott the channel. Gordon Brown is answering questions on tonight's Politics Hub With Sophy Ridge - watch live below.

Turning to the issue of climate change and paying for the required mitigations, Gordon Brown tells Politics Hub with Sophy Ridge that the UK is 1% of global emissions, but Africa is"really struggling" because of the impact of climate change, as well as wildfires.

He says looking around the world, we've gone through COVID, we've got the"climate crisis", as well as"debt, recessions and wars". He says it's"sad" that the gap between what is needed and the will to do it is"so big", so his book is about suggesting"positive solutions" to these problems.Sam Coates: There is a 'political logic' to Labour's U-turn ending charity status of private schools

However, the party say it will still apply the VAT rate of 20% on private school fees paid by parents.tells Politics Hub With Sophy Ridge"there is a political logic" to the move because it would"take ages" and involve a lot of lawyers. He adds that he thinks the decision may have been taken a year ago, but many questions still remain.

, says Lawrence Fox - leader of the Reclaim Party - is"not a politician" but an actor and he"says idiotic things" when he"goes off script"."I don't think it's an Ofcom matter," he says."If it turns out its a scripted matter, that's different." Ms Donelan says there are a"number of loopholes when it comes to immigration" that the government is trying to close. And backing Ms Bravermany, she says:"I think there will be people out there that are claiming that they are gay when they are not gay."Ms Donelan does not answer the question of whether the UK government will seek to leave the UN Refugee Convention, but says it needs reform because it has been"over-interpreted" since it was first written.
