Police officers and security guards at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh have ended their two-day strike after reaching a tentative agreement with the school late Tuesday.
Gabriel Welsch, the vice president of marketing and communications, said in a statement Tuesday night that a contract agreement had been reached, and officers and guards would be back at work Wednesday morning.
“The University appreciates the good-faith efforts of all involved in the negotiating process that led to resolving this matter swiftly and positively for the good of our students and our entire campus community,” Welsch said.after eight months of negotiations with the university broke down on Sunday.Keith Frank, the vice president of Teamsters Local 249, said in
