Police say 'no risk to public' after man arrested and placed under armed guard at hospital after weapon recovered
Police have confirmed there is 'no risk to the public' after a man was arrested and a weapon was recovered. Following his arrest the man was taken to Fairfield Hospital for treatment and was guarded by 'specialist' armed officers.
There neither was nor is an 'incident' at the hospital. 'Specialist' officers, who were armed, have been overseeing the arrested man while he is at hospital, the Manchester Evening News understands. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Specialist officers are at Fairfield Hospital with a man while he receives treatment for non-serious injuries after he was arrested earlier today in Rochdale.
