Ben Needham went missing more than 30 years ago and his mum has asked UK officers to check
An investigation has been launched to find out if the body of a boy found in a German river cold be a British toddler who has been missing for more than 30 years. The Mirror reported that Ben Needham’s mum Kerry asked police to investigate if the tragic find could be her son.
Interpol said it was not clear how long the body had been in the water and the Mirror has approached German police to see if his death could be historic. Kerry told the Mirror: “I’m pleased they are looking into it. Every possibility has to be investigated and ruled out. He added: “We can now assume that this boy was probably not German.” This week South Yorkshire Police told the Mirror they were aware of Interpol’s Black Notice and would look into it. Kerry said officers from the force have Ben’s DNA and her daughter’s DNA available if they need it to rule a link out.
