A man has been stabbed to death
Police have issued an update and made a direct appeal to the public following the fatal stabbing of a man in Leeds.
He was transferred to the ambulance and given emergency treatment, but sadly died in hospital at 3.20pm. Police launched a murder investigation yesterday and increased stop and search powers were put in place.The crime is thought to have happened near the junction between Hamilton Avenue and Hamilton Place. Officers cordoned off the area last night to investigate, and the cordon remains in place today while forensic examination and specialist searches from the homicide team are ongoing.
"Clearly no-one deserves to have their life taken in such sudden and violent circumstances and we are determined to identify those responsible and see that they are brought to justice. We understand that people may have reservations about speaking to the police, but we hope they can appreciate how important it is that they come forward and assist the investigation.
