Tahir Mahmood is wanted on recall to prison

Police have renewed appeals to find a sex offender from Blackburn who has been on the run for two weeks.

Tahir Mahmood was jailed in 2016 for vile sex offences and although he has since been released he is wanted on recall. Mahmood has been missing since October 19 and police are asking for the public's help to find him. The force today released a mugshot photo of Mahmood along with CCTV images as part of efforts to trace him. A previous appeal was made five days ago but Mahmood remains on the loose.According to the force, Mahmood has links to Halifax and Birmingham as well as various parts of the south of England. Anyone who sees him or has information is being asked to come forward.

A Lancashire Constabulary spokesperson said: "Have you seen Tahir Mahmood? He has been missing since Oct 19 and is also wanted on prison recall. He was jailed in 2016 for a sexual offence. He has links to #Halifax, #Slough and #Birmingham or could be in #Luton or #Edgware. Info? 101 or [email protected]"
