A man who fired a gun Thursday afternoon as he walked outdoors along Bluebonnet Circle in west Fort Worth went into at least one business there and was soon arrested, according to police and witnesses.About 3:30 p.m., a Star-Telegram reporter at the scene saw a man lying on the ground outside being taken into custody by police. Authorities have not released the man’s name and have not said what charges he is expected to face.
Callers about 2:20 p.m. told 911 operators that a man was walking around the traffic circle firing a gun, according to a police incident detail report that provides preliminary information to officers responding to a call. A police SWAT team responded. The witness said she locked the door of her business, but she saw the man go into a vape store and Mellow Mushroom pizza restaurant. He was stumbling around, she said.Police said that when officers arrived at the scene, the man had gone into Mellow Mushroom. Their initial investigation indicates he fired shots in the air before going inside the business.
Officers were able to apprehend the suspect shortly after SWAT and negotiators arrived on scene, according to police. Officers have not yet confirmed how many shots were fired, but said about three to four businesses in the area were evacuated as a result.
