UPDATE: Police identify driver killed after loose tire slams into car on Interstate 95 in South Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA -- A driver has died after a tire came off of a pick-up truck on I-95, went airborne and smashed into his vehicle in South Philadelphia.
Police say the tire struck the median and hit the windshield of a car that was traveling southbound, trapping the driver inside.That victim, 37-year-old Iftikhar Jalil from Upper Darby, was transported to Jefferson University Hospital where he later died.There was no word on if that driver would face any charges.
