COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 21-year-old man was killed in an accidental shooting at an apartment complex on the city's southeast side Saturday morning, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Officers were called to the 3200 block of Melissa Place in the city’s Mid East neighborhood around 11:30 a.m. for a report of a shooting. Brighton Davis, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene just before 11:40 a.m., police said. According to Sgt. Terry McConnell, the suspect, 26-year-old David Jones II, left the apartment and entered a nearby park where they died by suicide.
