In 'The Clearing' podcast, the daughter of a serial killer reckons with her father's past
On episode 2 of “The Clearing,” a podcast about serial killer Edward Wayne Edwards, journalist and author Josh Dean describes how he obsessively sought a cache of evidence that police had gathered nine years earlier from Mr. Edwards’s trailer in Louisville, Ky.
The boxes were rumored to have been transferred to a small sheriff’s office in Geauga County, Ohio, but Mr. Dean was told he would need a court order if he ever hoped to see them. His collaborator on the project, a 50-year-old mother of three named April Balascio, thought she might have better luck.
