“He said to me ‘you’re going to play like a striker’, and I said ‘no, no I am a centre back’ and he said ‘yes but my scouts say in your hometown you play as a striker?’ I said ‘yes because in my town I was the best there’. In a small town you play as a striker, centre back, midfielder, you play in every position.
Pochettino’s Premier League career began in 2013 at Southampton before Spurs snapped him up in 2014 and really made his mark as a coach.
