It's time to tackle plastic pollution once and for all.
. Under the tax, there will be an exemption for manufacturers and importers of less than 10 tonnes of plastic packaging per year. However, all businesses will need to monitor their manufacturing and import levels, as well as keep records in order to prove they are exempt. This places an additional financial and administrative burden on companies even if they are already going above and beyond.
“The Plastic Packaging Tax is likely to be a real challenge for the producers and manufacturers of beauty products,” says Millie Kendall O.B.E., co-founder of. “On the one hand, we absolutely must keep driving change in how businesses operate in order to address the climate crisis, but on the other, with relatively little information from the Government on this, it's likely to creep up on many businesses that haven’t had the chance to prepare for the changes ahead.
