Campaigners have been waiting for more than a year for an announcement
People who rely on step-free access to use trains in Greater Manchester have been left in limbo as to when the next stage of work will begin to make the region's railway stations accessible.
He told the Local Democracy Reporting Service: "I am hoping these changes will come, we are waiting for Access for All. It feels frustrating that it has been pushed back, things do move very slowly. The 30-year-old started his campaign in 2018 after an accident on the stairs at his local station Reddish North while running for a train left him with a knee injury. He now makes videos to show how difficult it can be for some people to use Greater Manchester's railways.
She said: "I believe it is an important issue, and it will help residents travel around the borough of Stockport and further afield. I have in particular written letters in support of step free access at Davenport and Woodsmoor stations to TfGM and applications have been submitted by them to the Access for All initiative.
“Since 2019, TfGM has secured funding to deliver Access for All schemes in the seven Greater Manchester stations identified as being most in need of step free access. All seven schemes are currently in development and due to be delivered between 2025-2026.
