Manx Utilities moves forward with plans for a government-funded wind farm at Earystane and Scard.
Plans for a government-funded onshore wind farm in the south of the Isle of Man are set to be taken forward.Manx Utilities said after assessments of Earystane and Scard, the site "appeared to offer the best value" with the lowest environmental impact.
A full Environmental Impact Assessment will now take place on how the space could be affected by the look and noise of the farm. The EIA is set to be completed in 2025 prior to the submission of a planning application, with the aim of the farm to be in operation by the end of 2026.
