Despite having one of the worst offensive performances in the Texas League over the last seven days, the Missions maintain their division lead by 2½ games. “Tirso might have been one of the hottest hitters in baseball for the last month,” Missions manager Luke Montz said. “He went on an absolute tear. …So to replace him is something that we're not looking to do. We are just looking to get these guys better each and every day.”
Wolf, ranked as the Missions' top pitching prospect in the Padres organization, had a 1.50 ERA and 0.83 WHIP in six innings against Frisco. Despite allowing a first-inning home run, Wolf maintained composure in a 2-1 victory on Saturday.
