President Donald Trump is considering a gradual reopening of the U.S. economy starting as early as next month, but New Jersey’s Democratic governor isn't so sure

Murphy in a separate interview Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation” added that he’ll be talking to the White House on Monday about his state’s need for ventilators and personal protective equipment .

New Mexico’s Democratic governor also threw cold water on the likelihood of an imminent reopening of her state in a CNN interview Sunday. Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson on Sunday defended his state’s comparatively lax restrictions amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The state is one of only a handful to have not issued a formal stay-at-home order, though it has closed schools, restaurants and bars and banned indoor gatherings — with the notable exception of religious services — of more than 10 people.
