After long runs at Columbia and Sony, which Guber exited as CEO in 1995, he launched a series of shingles before becoming founder of Mandalay Entertainment. The company soon branched into financing independent film and TV development and sports media.
His films, which include “The Kids Are All Right,” “Rain Man” and “The Witches of Eastwick,” earned upwards of $3 billion worldwide and nabbed 50 Academy Awards nominations. In athletics, Guber has ownership stakes in the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Football Club and is owner/co-executive chairman of esports’ Team Liquid. He’s chairman of Dick Clark Productions, and in 2015 he invested in and joined the board of immersive-entertainment company NextVR.
