Pete Nance is trying to follow in the footsteps of his father and brother in Cleveland.
“I try to zoom out and look at how proud my 10-year-old self would be right now,” Nance said. “It’s just the dream growing up ... being in Rocket Mortgage . Watching games and watching LeBron and all of those guys. That was my dream to be able to play for the Cavs. Growing up 30 minutes away, my dad played here, my brother played here. It’s a very cool thing for me and I just couldn’t be more excited about it.
“I felt like I had a pretty good workout,” Nance said. “They thought so too. They thought I did well and kind of talking to my family about it, I think everybody was just trying not to think about it because my mom obviously wants me home. She was very, very, excited. Everyone was super excited for me, and I appreciate them having my back.”
“The main thing is just to enjoy it, really,” Pete Nance said. “You only get to go through this scenario once. Just to be able to take full advantage of everything and attack it with everything, but at the same time don’t put any pressure on it, and just have fun with it.” His Northeast Ohio high school accolades were his foundation. He was Division II All-Ohio first team and 2017 OHSAA Ohio Prep Sportswriter Association Player of the Year. He is also the leading scorer in Revere history.
