An effort to move Pennsylvania’s presidential primary next year bred new disagreements in the Legislature on Tuesday, as members of a House committee rejected a bill favored by the Senate.
Instead, the committee approved a bill to move the current primary date up three weeks, from April 23 to April 2. Lawmakers aired concerns about polling equipment being in place in churches around the Holy Week, and whether poll workers would be away for the holiday.
