A student from Allentown was among those protesting a planned appearance of the founder of the Proud Boys at the University Park campus.

This photo submitted to PennLive shows police officers arresting Bram Woolley in October during a demonstration against a Proud Boys event on campus. STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — A Penn State University undergraduate appears to have avoided suspension or expulsion from school after his arrest near aBram Woolley, 23, of Allentown was among the protesters Oct. 24 when Gavin McInnes, who started the far-right extremist group, was to speak at the University Park campus.

“Damon Sims, vice president for student affairs, reports that no student, to his knowledge, will be expelled or suspended in connection with the Oct. 24 events on the University Park campus,” the statement reads. His university disciplinary case enraged student activists, a couple dozen of whom rallied Monday outside the Old Main administration building and sought, unsuccessfully, to enteroffice. Woolley’s treatment in the absence of other charges from the October incident was outrageous, they said, especially because counter-demonstrators provoked anti-racist protesters and sprayed them with a chemical irritant.

The student organization Uncensored America was to have hosted in-person remarks by McInnes and conservative activist and comedian Alex Stein.at the last minute, citing the threat of more violence as tensions rose outside Thomas Building, the planned venue.
