Allar was deserving of the recognition. He threw for 325 yards and three touchdowns in his first start, a 38-15 win over West Virginia in the season opener. But Allar opted to deflect the attention stemming from the personal achievement, which is sure to be the first of many in his time as Penn State’s starting quarterback.
