A pedestrian was hospitalized in critical condition this weekend after being struck by an unmarked police vehicle driven by a Dallas police officer, the department said. Officers responded to the crash Sunday about 3:20 a.m. in the 1400 block of Botham Jean Blvd., near Dallas police headquarters and Corinth Road, and the pedestrian was taken to a hospital, police said. The pedestrian remained in critical condition Monday, police said.
The officer remained at the crash site and is still on active duty, police said. Police declined to release the names of the pedestrian and the officer. The department also declined to specify whether the officer will face any charges. Police said the contributing factors of the crash will be outlined in an accident report that was still being completed..
