The former butler spoke out ahead of the new Netflix docu-series
Princess Diana's former butler, Paul Burrell has publicly spoked out ahead of the upcoming Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Netlix docu-series. The former royal aide has suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should have their royal titles taken off them. He was speaking to Piers Morgan in an interview on Monday, December 5.
During TalkTV show's, Piers Morgan Uncensored, Paul Burrell, 64, said the series "all smacks of self-obsessed narcissism". The Mirror reported that he went on to discuss Prince Harry relocating to the US.Burrell had previously served as a butler to Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana. He continued saying that Princess Diana would have applauded Prince Harry for 'protecting his family' but "she wouldn't have applauded what he is doing now.
On the topic of how he would handle the situation with Prince Harry and Meghan if he were the monarch. Paul suggested stripping them of their royal titles. They hold the titles of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. He said: "You take away their titles, I agree, absolutely. They don't want to be members of the Royal Family, so why should they trade on royal titles? [Harry] will always be a Prince [though]".
