Pau Gasol had his Lakers legacy solidified when the team retired his No. 16 jerseyBut on Saturday evening, Gasol’s place as one of basketball’s all-timers will be cemented, with the 7-foot Spaniard being formally inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The 12-honoree 2023 class is headlined by Gasol, Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Gregg Popovich and Becky Hammon.He’s a six-time All-Star who was named to an All-NBA team four times.
“When you’re in that mode of chasing a championship, it takes a lot. It takes a special edge. When we relax a little more and try to connect more on a personal level, I remember those moments fondly.
