Outside of court, Jones' defense attorney, Rosemary Scapicchio, blasted labels she says have been placed on Jones from social media. "It’s the social media and the media who have turned him into a thug who have labeled him a thug with no evidence whatsoever," she said to news reporters."This is the institutional racism that we deal with everyday in the court system. There's no indication whatsoever that he was in any way disrespectful."
Scapicchio added that her client only wants to play football, and that he had no intentions of bringing guns into the airport. The New England Patriots didn't comment much on the matter, but did confirm that it was their player involved.include two counts each of possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of an airport, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a large-capacity feeding device and possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card.
