Housing Authority & collaborating foundations welcomed families onto mobile internet bus to Guadalupe
TUCSON, Ariz. -- — Hundreds of Pascua Yaqui tribe families had missed out on high speed internet access for years. In 2022, though, the White House pledged that part of a $500,000 grant would build networks for a number of tribes in Arizona.
"It also gives tribal members an opportunity to connect with us more directly. We can do video inspections of their properties...doing our paperwork, we can do that now electronically." "As I say," Sandidge said,"A tablet is no good, just like a refrigerator or oven is no good, without some connectivity." Together with 'The Bus Stops Here' Foundation started by former Steelers player Jerome Bettis, HACP drove its Wi-Fi on Wheels Cyber-Bus into town.
