Parents in the Salt Lake City School District are raising concerns over the district's decision-making process regarding potential school closures.
Carrie Chalverus, a parent with two daughters who attended Bennion Elementary, praised the education her children received.But she also emphasized that transparency has been lacking from the district. Four years ago, when the district debated closing Bennion Elementary, she called for an open policy.Salt Lake City School District to review schools recommended for study of potential long-term closure"In many ways, that felt like not telling parents.
"Last night I asked, were there any minutes at the parent Q&A meeting, and I was told no. That really concerns me," she said.
