Seems a lot of grown-ups got the message, but the kids need reminding so TxDot has launched it's Teen Click It or Ticket campaign. The best way to protect yourself in a car crash is by using your seat belt, period. Buckle up every time you get behind the wheel, even if it's just a quick trip. Car crashes continue to be the leading cause of death for teenagers in the US. Yet in 2021, 45 percent of teens killed in crashes were NOT wearing seatbelts. Wearing a seatbelt is the law in Texas. Everyone in the car must be buckled in. Violating the law can cost you up to 200 bucks in fines.
