The Paramount Plus May 15-21 schedule is topped by a critically acclaimed fantasy movie directed by George Miller.
Three Thousand Years of Longing debuted in theaters on August 26, 2022. Although it was generally received with positive reviews, the movie bombed at the box office and failed to top its $60 million production budget, grossing around $20 million.
“Dr. Alithea Binnie is an academic, content with life and a creature of reason,” reads the synopsis. “While in Istanbul attending a conference, she happens to encounter a Djinn who offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom. This presents two problems. First, she doubts that he is real, and second, because she is a scholar of story and mythology, she knows all the cautionary tales of wishes gone wrong. The Djinn pleads his case by telling her fantastical stories of his past.
The film is produced by Miller, Doug Mitchell, and Kennedy Miller Mitchell, with Craig McMahon and Kevin Sun serving as executive producers. It hails from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, FilmNation Entertainment, and United Artists Releasing.Three Thousand Years of Longing
