Wilmer police were dispatched about 11:45 p.m. after Ferris police said a vehicle headed north in the southbound lanes of I-45 struck two vehicles before crashing head-on with another vehicle just south of Mars Road.Michael Coyne, a coach and teacher at Palestine Junior High School, was killed and two Palestine Independent School District students were injured, the district said.
She said the family of one of the hospitalized students had recently suffered a tragedy. Now, the community is “just trying to make sure they’re putting one foot in front of the other,” she said, adding that funeral services hadn’t yet been organized.
