In Joe Musgrove and Fernando Tatis Jr., Padres get two 'premier players' back this weekend in Phoenix
The Padres have had Thursday circled on the calendar as Fernando Tatis Jr.’s return since they were eliminated from the NLCS last October.“Pretty good players,” Padres manager Bob Melvin said of the jolt his team is expecting this weekend in Arizona. “On a personal level, I’ve been waiting for Fernando to get in the lineup since I’ve gotten here. It’s exciting for me. It was one of the draws of wanting to come over here. As far as Joe goes, you know what Joe means to this team.
What the Padres will do will be an ongoing conversation in the organization heading into the next off-day in Chicago on Monday.
