One local group of breast cancer survivors have found friendship and strength through a shared loved of dragon boat racing.is a dragon boat racing team made up of 20 paddlers, 1 drummer and 1 steersperson.
Paddles with a Purpose started in Austin in 2019, and the team focuses on living life to the fullest rather than focusing on the disease that brought them together. The women take to the water practicing about twice a week and compete all over. Experience is definitely not needed. The team says their only desire is to learn and have fun. They're also looking for about 10 new members to join.
