The Browns traveled to Seattle in hopes of improving to 5-2.
SEATTLE — P.J. Walker and the best darn defense in the NFL almost pulled off another improbable victory, but the magic ran out at the end.
Despite his three turnovers, Walker put on a gutsy and scrappy performance just like he did in victories over the 49ers and Colts. The Browns then tied it 17-17 with 7:29 left in the third on a 25-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins. But they were certainly hoping for seven after tight end David Njoku caught a 41-yard screen on the drive.
The Browns trailed only 17-14 at the half after cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. picked off Smith on pass intended for D.K. Metcalf with 22 seconds left in the half at the Browns’ 17 to prevent another Seattle score. But the Seahawks stormed back again to make it 17-7 with 59 second left in the first on a 32-yard field goal by Jason Myers. Big play on the drive was a 43-yard strike to Metcalf, who got behind Emerson on the play down the left side.
