What fans can expect from the game's update:
“We never said that we would abandon the game,” said Creative Director Bartek Kmita. “This isn’t a games-as-a-service, but if people like it, we will definitely be doing more things in the Outriders universe. We have so many more stories to tell, and a lot of ideas we want to explore that we couldn’t fit in the original game, so we’re happy to create more content in the future. Anything we would make would be in the form of significant expansions with self-contained stories.
Again, I have played the new content in a session with Square Enix and other journalists and creators, which took place last week. I really can’t say anything else about it until the 15th, but I have thoughts, footage, the whole nine yards, so check back then and I will give you the full rundown about what’s coming.
This is the first broadcast of this kind since the game launched, and the first actual content update that wasn’t just a buff/nerf/fix patch, where we’ve seen many of those since the game launched in April 2021. As for the longer term future of Outriders past this update? That’s something we’ll have to discuss later on too…
