The Congregation of Oros Bais Yaakov purchased property in Jackson and has been fighting for a decade to have a high school built.

A township zoning board in Ocean County that refused for nearly a decade to allow an Orthodox Jewish congregation to build a new high school has settled a lawsuit for $1.35 million and the project can now moving forward.

An attorney for the township did not immediately respond Friday to a request for comment on the settlement. After 30 depositions, years of wrangling in court hearings, multiple motions and amended filings, the township and congregation agreed this week to settle the suit.
