The sibling cubs at the Philadelphia Zoo are estimated to be about five months old.
Philadelphia Zoo will celebrate the cubs public debut during Big Cat Weekend, Sept. 23-24, 2023, which is included in regular zoo admission.
The male cub was named Elbroch “in honor of Mark Elbroch who is the leading puma researcher for Panthera, a conservation organization devoted to the protection of the world’s 40 species of wild cats.”Elbroch is a little bigger than Olympia. The cubs were underweight when they arrived at the zoo. They have since been cared for with a specialized dietary plan, physical exams, blood work, cardiac and abdominal ultrasounds and vaccines.
