Screen Rant is pleased to present an exclusive clip from this week's episode of Carnival Row. The fantastical Prime Video series is set in an alternate Victorian world that's mired in interracial conflict between humans and fae. When a number of gruesome murders take place in The Burgue, human detective Rycroft Philostrate attempts to find the culprit and falls in love with the faerie Vignette Stonemoss .
While season 2 of Carnival Row serves as the show's last, showrunner Erik Oleson had prepared everything to bring the epic story to a satisfying conclusion. As Philo continues his investigations, Vignette and a group called the Black Raven seek vengeance against The Burgue’s human oppressors — namely the Breakspears. After Philo prevented the Black Raven from killing a fellow human, Sergeant Dombey, the couple broke up and Vignette was arrested.
Whether or not the two decide to team up, freeing Vignette already seems a daunting task. With half a season left to go, it will be fascinating to see the pieces fall into place for the grand finale — even if Carnival Row ends in tragedy, as many fans fear. The series also stars Arty Froushan as Jonah Breakspear, Caroline Ford as Sophie Longerbane, Tamzin Merchant as Imogen Spurnrose, Andrew Gower as Ezra Spurnrose, David Gyasi as Agreus Astrayon, and Karla Crome as Tourmaline.
Prime Video has been seeing great success as of late in the realms of fantasy and science fiction. Not only has their Lord of the Rings prequel series Rings of Power been a smash hit, but The Peripheral's futuristic vision was also renewed for season 2 after being very well-received. The platform has even begun expanding its international repertoire, with Korean fantasy drama Island landing in Prime's top 10 series worldwide during its first season.
