An original NCIS: Los Angeles star opens up about the possibility of returning to the long-running procedural, striking an optimistic tone.
Daniela Ruah, an original NCIS: Los Angeles star, addresses her potential return to the franchise. Part of the NCIS spinoff since the very first season, Ruah portrayed Kensi Blye. In the NCIS: LA series finale, it was revealed that Kensi and Marty Deeks have a baby on the way. But with LL Cool J's Sam Hanna making a surprise appearance in the NCIS: Hawaiʻi season 2 finale, it's opened up the possibility for other NCIS: LA alums to reprise their roles.

Although nothing is confirmed, the Los Angeles vet indicated that she would be open to reprising her role in the right circumstances and if she's asked to do so.
The way that Hanna shows up is fairly casual, with just a quick reference to the events of NCIS: LA. This indicates that Kensi's potential appearance wouldn't have to be a heavy lift or take part as part of a larger crossover. She could show up multi-episode arc with Deeks, helping on a case and providing an update on the couple.
It's worth noting, as well, that NCIS: Los Angeles wasn't ended by CBS due to low ratings. It was reportedly because of the high-production costs associated with a long-running series. That means that Kensi and other agents could still pop up under the right circumstances. At the very least, it sounds like Ruah would be open to coming back in the future.
