Operators need to pay their investors and royalty owners for this wasted resource. Now crypto mining is being used to put this so-called “wasted resource” to dubious use, but for whose benefit?
The Legislature and Railroad Commission need to provide regulations to meter and account for all forms of natural gas, to charge users — such as crypto-miners — and pipelines for the use of natural gas, to strictly limit flaring and venting. Voters need to question their governor, lt. governor, state representatives and those running for Railroad Commission as to their positions on flaring and venting of natural gas, as well as the need for metering and what to do about abandoned wells. If a candidate cannot answer and address these issues, find candidates who will.
