The government could address the crisis with authority by passing legislation that makes the background checks for gun purchases more rigorous. But, tragically, the government continues to do nothing. Political agendas, special interest groups, lobbyists and campaign contributions all have been put before America's general safely.

A couple weeks ago, the Business Roundtable recognized that the separation of business from society was hurting the country. They suggested that the era of shareholder primacy must end, and that business must serve multiple stakeholders, including customers and employees.
