Public health will continue to dominate the county’s attention this year in light of the rise of the more contagious Omicron subvariant, BA.2, and this week’s decision by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to roll out a new Pfizer and Moderna booster shot for those 50 and older who have their first booster shot already.
