Recently, that snow for Christmas wish has been satisfied with trips to visit a son and daughter, and three of our seven grandchildren, living outside of Philadelphia.
Maria was white-knuckling the whole way as I was having a great time dusting off my Motor City winter driving skills in our Toyota Highlander Hybrid with all-wheel drive. The sights were spectacular, especially busting out of the fog and seeing a snow-covered Mount Shasta for the first time. On the way home, we saw snow on the Grapevine as we neared Los Angeles.
