Opinion: San Diego's housing plans are not a solution to homelessness [Opinion]
” : If one more politician references homelessness and affordable housing in the same sentence, my brain may implode. No level of affordable housing other than free of cost would house the majority of our homeless population.
Very high-end, high-rise apartments win approval based on a few Section 8 units on the bottom floor. Other units in the complex are $5 per square foot per month. Councilmember Steve Whitburn actually said this, “But transit service tends to increase in areas that have more density — areas that have more potential riders. So transit and density work hand in hand.”This word salad reminds me of the rationale for millions spent on bike lanes. We stand and applaud if we see someone actually using those bike lanes properly. Enough.
Please use logic when making decisions that forever change the character of our beautiful city. There is no going back.
