From WSJopinion: What the Journal achieved on 9/11 was an all-American triumph—and a template for how to sustain a collective body blow, set aside trauma and respond, writes Dean Rotbart

Wonder Land: Following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, it became commonplace to say, “9/11 changed everything.” But in reality it is politicians who have changed everything, and in doing so, not made a better, safer America. Images: AFP/Getty Images Composite: Mark KellyIt will happen again. Though few of us want to admit it, the 9/11 terrorist attacks are destined to be repeated, probably amplified, at some point.

The story of the men and women who worked for this newspaper on 9/11 has been underreported, no doubt because of the paper’s understandable concerns of coming across as self-aggrandizing. Such apprehensions are unnecessary. What the Journal achieved on 9/11 was an All-American triumph—and a template for how to sustain a collective body blow, set aside trauma and respond.
