When students aren’t given the opportunity to connect with their friends and family, they aren’t able to receive the emotional support that they need to keep them from undergoing stress.because it allows them to build life skills that can’t be learned in a classroom, apply what they have learned in the classroom to the real world and learn more about the real world through experience.
Sometimes I don’t even eat dinner with my family because I am trying to finish my work before the deadline at 11:59 p.m. I will sometimes find myself reminiscing about the good times I’ve had with my friends and family just wishing that I could go back instead of completing the five hours of homework that I have left. However, I wouldn’t say that having homework is a bad thing because it can actually be helpful in some ways.
Assigning students too much homework can cause test scores to decline. According to a study by researchers from the University of Ovideo in Spain that was published by the American Psychological Association in 2015, students who were assigned 90 to 100 minutes of homework per daythan those who were given shorter assignments on a consistent basis. This shows that homework can be beneficial at times, but only to a certain extent.
