Opinion: Easter reminds us that Jesus' greatest power was his willingness to sacrifice for love [Opinion]
When women went to Jesus’ tomb expecting to find his lifeless body, the stone had already been removed and the one who lay inside spoke. If God could always do this, what was the spark for doing it at that particular moment? He had sacrificed his life out of love for people.
This is what Easter is all about. This season shows us that true heroism does not come from superpowers one would like to have. True heroism is possible to achieve, but it requires a meaningful self-crucifixion, a sacrifice borne out of love for one’s neighbor. When we do this, we will find ourselves to be better than what we were before.
