California Governor Gavin Newsom was set to address reporters in Half Moon Bay Tuesday afternoon, a day after the third mass shooting in California in as many days.

"The common denominator is these damn guns," said Newsom."Gun safety saves lives. The modern gun safety movement started with Ronald Reagan. The right wing should look that guy up!" Newsom singled out the Republican Party, and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in particular, for their resistance to increased gun control measures.
"I'm still waiting for Kevin McCarthy, the leader of the House of Representatives, who purports to represent the people of the state of California and the proud and remarkable district in Kern County. We haven't heard one damn word from him," said Newsom."Not since Monterey Park. Not [after] what happened here. Not one word, not one expression, of prayers, condolences, nothing. And it should surprise no one.
