Has it been a year already? Remembering the day when temperatures hit more than 40C in Lincolnshire 🥵
Coningsby recorded a scorching 40.3C as the UK melted in the midst of a heatwave.
Last summer’s extended heatwave saw the previous record - 38.7C - surpassed at testing stations around the country, with Lincolnshire being the hottest. Dr Mark McCarthy of the National Climate Information Centre said: “Verification of these record-breaking temperatures confirms what we’ve been saying in the last week, that the UK exceeded 40°C for the first time as part of a widespread and intense heatwave.
